It's been a long time since I had a Celtic Lady to talk about but I recently started Celtic Autumn. I am using the orange/green conversion that Karen shared with us and stitching it on a hand-dyed fabric (the name of which escapes me at the moment).

Kitting up Celtic Autumn!

Once I finish my current project, I'll be working on Autumn! I'm so excited. Just placed my order today for the beads. I have all the needlepaints for it, so I just need the time! LOL, I'm a one project at a time stitcher. Sometimes I need the incentive to finish a project by kitting up a new one. So Autumn is my incentive to finish my current sunflowers. Hope to share some pictures soon!

More progress on Celtic Spring

I had a good week working on Celtic Spring ~ I've had a nasty cold so I stayed home and stitched this weekend instead of sharing my germs at work.

I need to get in the gold thread to add to her skirt, as I think all the swirls will be a little easier to navigate if I fill in the gold swirls at this point. I'll be substituting Kreinik #4 braid for the gold that is called for as I prefer to work with the #4.

I'm focusing on finishing a Chatelaine piece for now so I will be putting Spring away for at least a couple weeks.

A start of a new series

Hello all! I joined the blog a couple months ago, and finally started on my Celtic Ladies project in January. I recently finished the "big five" seasonal Mirabilia Queens with the completion of Royal Holiday back in November 2010, so felt able to take on another series of five seasonal projects, the Celtic Ladies.

I'm starting with Celtic Spring, which I'm doing as designed and in the original colors. Here she is after a week of work:

The fabric is antique white belfast, which I will be using for the whole series.

When Spring is eventually finished, I will move on to the orange/green conversion of Autumn, which I'm really looking forward to doing as I haven't done a major color conversion of a large piece before...plus I'm absolutely in love with the conversion colors. I will also be on the look out for a conversion for Winter as I'm not thrilled with the original design.

I rotate projects, so I should hopefully get to pull out a Celtic Lady and work on her about every other month.

Here's my progress to date! Slowly moving along...
To your question Rachel I do as much as I can with one colour, then add the next bit to that colour. Although on this I did a whole lot of the gold as the other colours fit all around it. For the square designs at the side I did each section but still haven't done the beads. I think I may leave those till the last.

Hi Everyone

Just wondering how you all go about your stitching?
I tend to pick a colour and stitch that colour in the particular area of the pattern I am working on. Then I move onto anothe colour in that area.

Thought it would be interesting to see if there are different ways of progressing through our projects!

Hi everyone!

I've been stitching since I was around 13, but my first big project was Celtic Spring. I love these ladies, they are soo pretty! Cross stiching is a way of relaxation for me but once I start I find it very difficult to stop!

I have stitched 3 of the series so far and am about to start on Autumn (in the converted colours, thanks Kathy!)

I am trying to show my progress weekly so here it is to date... I have completed a lot more of the gold thread, which I hate stitching, but think I have the hang of it now..

I thought I had made a mistake and unpicked a whole lot and then found it was ok, grrrr but never mind I feel I have had a good go at it this last week.

I even managed a few stitches on Christmas day.

I have stitched this regularly this last month and fitted it in around making Christmas pressies. I would really like to get it finished in the New year.

I have other stitching to do and need to finish some of my WIPs. Not as many as some only three but I started this last August 2009! The fabric I am using is Polstitches Silversage 28 Jobelan.

This is my last posting in July.

So you can see, I have stitched quite a bit and intend to have this finished by end of February 2011. I thought I might get it done earlier but I have been busy making Christmas cards and presents. Mostly knitted socks and a crochet scarf and hat.. I do like this and love stitching it.

Sorry I have been absent but I am stitching my Celtic Summer again. I got waylaid by too many other designs, but I have pledge to finish one of my WIP each month and so far I am getting through them so I am now stitching my Lady again. Just looked back at some of the lovely finished work here to give me some umph!! No pics so far but am pledging a photo a week to show my progress. Imbolc is finally framed

I finished her a couple years ago but I finally framed her last night. Lol, her frame was a garage sale find, but after popping the ugly duck picture out and a can of spray paint later, it suits her just fine. So now she can be hung up instead of hiding in a drawer, which means I better finish painting the living room lol.

Here is Ireland at 36 hours. I think I will leave the undersleeve as it is, not sure yet what colors for the shawl. The shamrocks are from Sweethart Tree's "Irish Blessing sampler" and I'm might add some to the border somewheres too. They would look cool going across the top but maybe instead of the roses on the sides. The horse is my own drawing and I'm figuring him out as I go. His blanket is actually Spring's skirt lol. This has been my most intense conversion yet, the girl is a conversion of Autumn. Thanks for looking :)

Hi all! I'm new to the group and thought I'd introduce myself. Thanks very much to Kathy for allowing me to join :-)

My name is Sue and I've been an avid cross stitcher for many years. I blog over at Her Boudoir, mostly about my stitching but with some other stuff thrown in as well.

I've always liked the Celtic ladies, but since I had the Mirabilia seasonal Queens in progress for many years, I didn't want to do another large seasonal set. I am just finishing up Royal Holiday aka Christmas Queen now, and when I get her finished...I've decided to do all five of the Celtic Ladies. Hence, joining you all here :-)

Anyway, I'll be starting soon, although I haven't decided which lovely lady will be up first.

I've completed a bit more of my celtic lady cross stitch picture. I've done all the beading on the top border and right hand border and am now working on the left hand side sewing on the red beads. I've really enjoyed sewing this picture and will be a little sad when it's complete.

Hello again! I've done a bit more progress on Celtic Lady... I've started the gold metallic part of the border on the left side, not a tremendous amount but it's better than none at all which was how it was for a few months.

I'm quite getting into it now and can't wait to see her grow, looking forward to having a go at the beading.

Needing Advice

I have lived in my current city for nearly 5 years and just finally found a cross-stitch store that carries much of the supplies that I want to use when I stitch. Today, after getting all sorts of lost due to the Navigation on my phone not working correctly, I finally figured out where I was, ran into the cross-stitch store and purchased the pattern and beads for Celtic Summer. I didn't think to check the list of colors that it called for. And so tonight as I'm pulling DMC floss, I found out that it calls for Needlepaints. Which are not an option. I googled conversions and found one to DMC floss but don't like how the colors look together. Marilyn suggests a conversion to Splendor/Mandarin for the 2001-2006. But there is not a suggestion for 2101-2106. And I'm wondering how the dmc and the other threads would look together. I think tomorrow I will call the store and purchase one of the other patterns over the phone so that I at least have something to stitch on our upcoming vacation. But I will eventually want to stitch the summer one, I just didn't realize I'd have to figure out a conversion before I get started.

Hello Ladies -

My name is Chari and I live in Kansas City, MO. My mother taught me to cross stitch many years ago and I have been an avid stitcher since college. I have 4 daughters, Codi (10), Baileigh (8), Katelyn (7) and Brenna (4). Cross stitching is my therapy (I need a lot of "therapy" with all those girls!) My favorite artist for the past 10 years has been Marilyn. I completed one of her projects for each of my girls. Each started right before the girls were born. And now am working on the Celtic Ladies. I've been very surprised at how quick of a stitch they have been. I will have to get back to the store and buy more linen and a new pattern for our upcoming vacation because I'm not beading on the plane! These are my most recent pictures. Since then, all of the stitching has been completed and a good deal of the beading. Happy stitching all!

A Bit More Stitched

Here she is - after almost two weeks. I finally accepted it that Needlepaints this projects calls for are practically impossible to get, so I reserved to the good old DMC conversion. By the way, what is the word on Needlepaints - are they out of production, or is the manufacturer still making them?

I worked on the top sequence and the bodice; her hair is a bit more full since the last time, and also I started working on her dress. Soon I will get the beads - and I wonder how I should handle them: do I get the specialty thread for beading, or do I simply use the DMC color closest to the bead to complete it? Or just plain white thread? Thankfully, I have some time to think it over. Ladies, please give me some suggestions, I will appreciate any advice or experience you share.

Celtic Summer Update

Here is the first picture of my Celtic Summer lady. I love working on her, there are so many small details! Also, linen is so much easier and nicer to stitch on - it helps the reverse side look almost as good as the front.

Right now, I am working with DMC floss and one skein of Needelepaints I "fished out" of the store in Solvang. I found six more colors of Needlepaints - green shade - on Ebay, as well as the Gold Thread of Rainbow Gallery... It was some thread hunt, ladies! Now I am afraid I won't be able to find a purple shade of Needlepaints anywhere (NP 2001 to NP 2006)... I really need some advice on good substitutes. Any suggestions, please?

A Finish!

Finished at last! She's only taken two years lol. I was very happy to put the last few stitches in yesterday and am really pleased with her.

My future stitching plans include a Mirabilia and a Passione Ricamo before starting on the next Lavender and Lace lady so I probably wont be posting much on here until later this year. I will however keep coming over to see your beautiful work. I have you in my blogreader so I don't miss an update.

It's been lovely to stitch along with you all and I hope to be back with you when I start 'Winter' in a few months.

I love stitching this but I have to keep it in my rotation of WIPs so have stitched 3 motifs at the side this week, depending on how I get on with my socks that I am knitting for my grand daughter I should be able to get some more stitched this month.

Another go at Celtic Christmas

So remeber how last year I said I'd try to get Celtic Christmas done by Christmas... well it didn't happen. We had a very busy year and I was finally able to pull it out of storage. So once again the goal is to have Celtic Christmas done by well Christmas.

I have completed this in double quick time I think. I started this on Saturday 19th September 2009 and finished at 2am this morning... completed in just 2 months.. so chuffed with myself. Just need to get it framed now.

I am going to start on Celtic Spring this afternoon whilst watching TV. I will post a progress pic when I have done enough to show.

I started this on thursday and love it already! I am waiting for the gold thread as the original firm I ordered it from didn't have 4 cards in stock, so.... I decided to get that and the beads from another firm and so will be watching Mr Postie on monday.(Suddenly remembered our Postie is a woman!!) Thank you for all the tips about sewing on the beads I was shown to sew them on double to make sure they were secure and I think I will do that as I am going to attach them as I go and not leave them till all the stitching is finished.

Hi All

I have started my Celtic Summer and intend to post a pic on monday when I have stitched a little more. I just wondered how you were sewing on your beads, do you use a coloured thread that is near to the bead or an invisible nylon thread?

I have had to use the DMC Conversion threads as I couldn't get Needlepaints they seem to be no longer in production. I am loving stitching this and it is going to be hard not to do just this!!

"Samhain" is officially started (again!). It is a conversion of Autumn to represent the Celtic holiday Samhain. My cat had destroyed my first attempt, and then I waited till halloween to start over. So now I can play with this one for awhile, but not enuf progress to take a pic just yet..

I am Chris I have been stitching for some years altho had a break when life stresses took over but in the last four years haven't stopped stitching and manage to stitch most days. I saw Kathy's lovely work last March and then Lynn's as well, at the beginning of this month at a lovely stitchers day organised by Lynn, so I have taken the plunge and decided to do something big!! I have become a Celtic Lady follower and have 'Summer' all ready to go.I am using 28c Jobelan Evenweave colour Silversage from Polstitches and all DMC threads as most of the Needlepaints are now discontinued.
Can't wait to get started but have one more motif to do on my Beatrice Potter Quaker to reach my months target of three motifs before I can allow myself to begin this!!

Hi all

I am new to this SAL so thought I had better show how far I have got with my Celtic Christmas...

I started this on Saturday 19th September 2009 and have done some on it every day since. This is because I am loving it some much. Thank you Kathy for encouraging me to have a go at one of these. I was also bought a Lowery stand by a very close friend for stitching this.. ain't I a lucky girl..lol

I am stitching it on 28 ct Zweigart Brittney in Natural and the fabric colour doesn't show up well in this pic.

When I have finished this one I have Celtic Spring kitted up and waiting in the wings. I really want to stitch all these

Hi there everyone! Long time, no see. Hope you're all well. I have popped along to see what's happening here every now and then and your celtic ladies are coming along beautifully :o)

Since I left the group in Kathy's wonderfully capable hands in April I haven't really had much time for stitching, until this last couple of weeks when I have managed to fit in a few hours here and there. I thought I'd pop on and show you my 'very, very slow' progress:

I'm not sure when my next update will be as the next six weeks is going to be a bit chaotic here so I might not have much time again for stitching. Mind you, Kathy is coming over for a visit in two weeks and my young one will be at his Daddy's that weekend so no doubt there will be a lot of stitching going on then!

I am stitching Celtic Christmas at the moment and I will post a progress pic over the next couple of days. I have been working on it for 3 weeks now and am thoroughly loving doing it.

I have Celtic Spring to do next. I want to do all of them but need the charts for Autumn, Summer and Winter. Does anyone have any of these charts for sale ??

Here is "Lammas" at 7 hours progress. The fabric looks gray but it is Dusty Green jobelan. Most of the 'morphing' is done- the easiest way to deal with it was starting with the yellow undersleeve and finishing each area of the costume before moving on, though she has a couple of blank spots there, it's nothing major affecting the split. She will have Autumn's hairstyle but in Spring's colors, and once the hair/face are done it'll be simpler to just work off Spring's chart instead of both. Still it was a simple endevour once I got into it more, and I'm happy with how she's turning out so far.

Hi everyone, my name is Kate (Kowgirlkat on the bb's) and I've been working on the LL Celtics for several years. My goal is to have a set of Celtic holidays so I've been busy with lots of conversions. So far, Mabon and Imbolc are finished and Beltane, Ostara, Lammas, and Lithia are in different stages of progress, and Samhain and Yule await to be started. Currently working on Lammas which is a coversion of Autumn and Spring morphed together, when I get enuf progress I will take a pic. Other conversions include some Lord of the Rings inspired ones, and an Ireland one. I also plan to do Xmas just as she's charted. Lol, I think I'll be doing Celtics forever. But I'm happy to find an on-going SAL for them!!

Getting Going Again

Kathy starting this SAL again was just the incentive I needed to get me working on Celtic Autumn again. Previously I was finding that I liked to work on her on Sunday but the Wimbledon Final got in the way of that this week so I picked her up again on Monday. I set myself the target of finishing off one of the braid cards I had and getting the trim on the bottom of her dress done.

As you can see I actually ended up doing a little more than that, but that was because I didn't achieve everything I wanted on Monday so I worked on it yesterday as well.

Well, I finally got a fire lit under me to finish her. So I've put in quite a bit of work and as you can see, I finished up all the DMC cotton full crosses. All that's left to do now is the metallic and the beading. She is a focus for my home stitching this month, so we'll see if I can git 'er done, (in the words of Larry the Cable Guy.)

I hadn't realised it was so long since I'd last posted any pictures of Celtic Autumn (in January) on this blog.

I have been working on her over the last few months, although not on a regular basis. She's now too big for my hoop and has been transferred to my scroll frame.

I shall now make an effort to stitch on her at least once a week and to post updates on here each week.

UFO Night Maybe?

Just did a long post which blogger then ate!
Anyway, in short, rotations aren't working for me at the moment and so for some time I've just been stitching on what screams, which hasn't been my Celtic Autumn...
But I've been thinking that I really do want to make progress on her somehow, and so have wondered about choosing one night a week when I work on her, call it a UFO night maybe? Not sure on a night, maybe Monday would be good for me, but don't suppose it matters as long as I can do one night a week. Even one stitch would be better than nothing right?
At the moment I'm doing a course and that doesn't finish til the UK school hols start in 3 weeks, so til then my stitching time is tiny and I don't want to commit until I really can make an effort. Would anyone be interested in joining me just to put some stitches in your Celtic each week, one stitch or one hour, or one night, anything?

Finally some progress

Sorry for the really lousy pic and the lack of ironing, but time is limited these days, lol. I'm working a rotation so I'm finally able to say that I made some progress. I managed to get a good section of her dress done on the lower right hand side. Who knew that it would take so long to stitch a skirt?

Well, the recent posts of completed Celtic Springs were definitely inspiring...I managed only to get a few hours done on my lady this last month. However, I am almost done with the metallic swirls in the skirt and as you can see, I'm moving into the purple & dark blue of the skirt now. It's really not that far to go and after Celtic Noel, I know how fast the beading goes when you put needle and thread to work.

Like you all, I'm in love with these ladies! I've completed Celtic Spring and have Autumn and Winter waiting in the wings. I try to stitch one project at a time and have other projects waiting their turns as well. I've been browsing through all the status pictures and LOVE what I see! Beautiful work everyone!

Greetings stitchers! I'm new to this blog. My name is also Karen, same as Little Cat. I'm from Edison, NJ and have been stitching for a year and a half. I've been obsessed with it as many of you are. I began the lovely Celtic Winter on 4/1/09 and it was my first time stitching over 2 threads. It took some time getting used to and I still have more counting mistakes than I ever had with Aida. However I do really enjoy how smoothly the floss glides through the holes! This is what I've done in 2 weeks.

I have a question about the gold braid. The chart says to use 2 strands of floss or gold braid. I tried doubling 2 braids for a couple stitches and found it to be too thick. So I've been using just 1 braid strand and the coverage looks okay to me. Have any of you been stitching with 2 braid strands? Is that what you're supposed to do? I believe there's gold braid in all of the Celtic Ladies.

I had a similar problem with the White Wisper which is only in Celtic Winter. The chart calls for 2 strands of Wisper with 1 strand floss. I had to frog the first row 4 times, first trying 2 Wisper and 1 floss (way too thick), then just 2 Wisper (still too thick), then 1 Wisper (too thin), then finally 1 Wisper and 1 floss, which seems okay. Sheesh!

I decided to put Celtic Winter on a short hiatus to complete a little 5"x7" project to hang at work called Pirate's Creed by Sue Hillis. Here's what that looks like: http://www.thestitchery.com/prodimagesZ/T19142C.jpg. I intend to post again when I'm back to stitching Winter.

After 16 hours of work...

You can see I've pulled all the DMC284Z since the first scans were done and I've finished all of the cotton floss DMC with the exception of some face details that I'll leave to the end. I put in 16 hours from the time I put her back on the frame until these scans were done. I decided to use the Rainbow Galleries Petite Treasure Braid. I found it a bit easier to stitch with than the Kreinik and infinitely easier than the DMC284Z. If only I'd realized the solution has been out there for years! Too bad I didn't put my heart into looking at the options in metallics before this. Oh, well. I plan to continue stitching her a little bit every day until she is complete.

Good morning. My name is Janice and I live in GA. I've been stitching for 30 plus years. I also crochet, knit, needlepoint (but only occasionally) and piece quilt tops. I have yet to actually quilt anything. Of all my hobbies, cross stitch is by far my favorite. Last year I ran across this blog when I went looking for inspiration to finish my Celtic Christmas that I began more than 8 years ago, maybe even more. I proclaimed 2009 to be The Year of the UFO for myself and I've finished 3 smaller projects so far. CC was next up. Here is how she looked in mid-March although she appears much darker in the scans than she is:

The main trouble I had was working with the darned DMC gold that was called for in the chart. I just could not make this work regardless of the technique I used and was very dissatisfied with the results. Ultimately, I set her down then put her away until earlier this month. I went to an LNS a couple of weeks ago and got both Kreinik and Rainbow Galleries petite treasure braid to substitute. Since these scans were done, I've pulled all the gold out and have almost completely finished the stitching other than the gold and the beads. (I plan to remove her from the frame in a couple of days and rescan her.) Unfortunately, now the real work begins, the part I've been loathing! The metallics and the beading, but mostly the metallic work. I can only hope one of the two gold substitutes will work for me.

I've enjoyed looking at all of the pics on this blog. Your work is lovely! I hope the pics of your beautiful Celtic ladies and you all will help inspire me to keep going! Thank you for letting me join this group.

It's a bad picture, I know but at least you can make out the progress, lol. I finished up all the main stitching on the left hand border, finished up the bodice and am now working down on her dress. I am hoping to work on her a bit today and tomorrow with any luck. Heck I might even take her down to the laundry area to iron before starting back up.

It's a little slow going--metallic threads is never completely easy--but at least there's not a lot of counting going on. I just have to pay attention to where the beads will go and leave those squares blank.

Since my last progress update I have finished beading the parts of CS that I had already stitched. I added a little more to the borders and then worked on her basket. I am excited to finally be moving back on to her dress. If I get tired of that, I will switch back to the borders again.

I also had to move her onto Q-Snaps. I didn't want to take the chance of something happening to the beads when I rolled them up under the scroll frame.

Starting To Shine

On Sunday and Monday I worked on Celtic Autumn concentrating on stitching with the gold braid to fill in the swirls on her dress. I have to admit that by Monday evening I was sick of seeing gold but I'm very happy with the amount of progress I've made.

I have come to the conclusion that it is probably easier to follow this part of the pattern if you start the swirls using the gold braid. I shall give this a go when it comes to the back of her dress and see if I'm correct.

I know Christmas has been and gone in between this and my last post but I was still surprised to find that it was exactly a month since I'd worked on Celtic Autumn. I had been working on a charity square but now that it is done I have spent the last two days working on Celtic Autumn, concentrating on the swirls on her dress.

Despite spending a fair bit of time working with the braid most of the gaps in the swirls are stitches that need to be done with the gold braid. Thankfully the more I use it the easier it seems to become to use. I have also reached the point where she no longer fits inside my biggest hoop so it's time to move her onto my scroll frame. Not sure if I'm going to be able to work on her easily using that with my magnifying lamp but I guess it's a case of give it a go and see.

I've also decided that Celtic Christmas is the next Celtic lady I'm going to do so I'm going to start collecting the threads and beads for her. I figure that instead of flowers for Valentines Day maybe Husband would like to get me a lot of red threads instead.

Here is an update on my Celtic Summer. I don't seem to be taking the best pictures. They seem a little blurry to me. Maybe next week I'll have my husband do it.

This week I've been working on beading the sections that I have already stitched. The beads make such a difference. I love them! I wasn't sure if I should bead after all of her was stitched. I'm a little worried about what will happen to the beads as I wrap them around the scroll frame to work on her dress. Here's hoping they stay in place!

Sorry I haven't kept up with the Monday SAL :( I have finally got around to starting the beading on Lady Summer ...oh my it is a big job.

I bought a "tacky Bob" to help save my sanity as I end to get beads everywhere ...unfortunately it seems to be taking the gold off the beads so that will be consigned to the rubbish bin ...I have one of those cart wheel designed containers that I have swapped over to and that seems to be keeping the beads off the floor...lol...

My Celtic Summer

Hello Ladies,

Thank you for allowing me to join your SAL. I'm very excited to have found a SAL devoted to the wonderful Celtic Ladies.

My name is Donna. I am 33 and I live near Toronto, Canada. I started on my first Celtic lady (Summer) at the beginning of last year. She's still waiting to be finished. :P I have been extremely motivated as of late to cross stitch, and so I've made good progress on her. Here is a picture I took last week:

Actually, I'm cheating a little because I have more done on her than that. I tried to take a new photo but I can't seem to get a good shot without natural light. I have all of the letters stitched and a small part of the side border. Yesterday I started on the beading of the top border. Although I've been stitching for 13 years, I have never done a project that called for beading. So this is new to me. Beads really make a difference!

A beading question for all of you - what color of thread do you use to attach your beads? Clear? One that matches the bead, or one that matches the fabric? I wasn't sure what the best option was so I chose a thread color to match the bead.

Hi, my names Kelly and I live on the South East coast of the UK in a town called Hastings. I'm in my 40's and have been stitching for around 10 years now. I have 6 children and three grandchildren.

I started Celtic Summer last year and I am beading as I go as I stitch in hand. I am really enjoying stitching her but just some times I pull her out, look at her and put her away lol. I am a sucker for BAP's and prefer them to doing smaller projects.

Calling forth Spring...

So I've worked on her here and there...she's coming along beautifully. The borders are all done but for the beading. Now I'm focusing on the metallic swirls. I may even do some of the beads in that part as well since it's unlikely to need to go under the q-snap railing that far into the pic. But we'll see. Once I get the metallic swirls done, the dress should go quickly as it is big blocks of color. I'm well pleased with the progress. This Celtic lady has flown by. I'll be hard pressed not to immediately start into another season once she's

finished up.

Happy New Year to everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas also.
I am ashamed to admit that I have been absent from this group for several months. I want so badly to start a L&L chart! I have "Fallen Roses" kitted up. I've purchased several of the "Ladies". However, health and time have kept me from much stitching. I am hoping things will improve this year. I've chosen a new motto "all will be fine in 09". I truly expect to be an active member of this group.
All of the posted photos are lovely! Beautiful stitching! Makes me very envious! What an inspiration!

A Very Celtic Christmas

For Christmas my parents got me all 5 Celtic Lady patterns.

My dad assumed I'd missed Celtic Autumn out and didn't realise I was already stitching it so that one will hopefully be swapped for Cirque Des Triangles.

All I now need to do is work out which one I want to do once I've finished Celtic Autumn and start collecting the threads etc, etc.

Autumn popped out, trying to get more light I think. I was able to complete the M and U.

Had to take a break from playing with beads and broke out Celtic Banner. Finished the top row of Black Forest and working on the second row. Working my way to start working on the alphabet.

Bright eyes

Autumn finally came out to play to night. I think she had to cover her eyes (that she still doesnt have yet) to the brightness. I completed the treasure braid surrounding a number of blocks this evening. Making sure I have the math right BEFORE coloring them in. The M block had to be completely demolished as I was too far over (4 whole squares). The demolition happened a week or so ago as a break from ornaments and christmas stuff. Seemed right to go back and get some of the braid in.

This is my latest progress on Celtic Spring. I've been in the mood to work on my larger WIPs, and so I've busted out several hours on her this week. I really love the colors and am enjoying working on the skirt. Next, I'll be finishing the little bit of purple above the swirls, the border stitches on the left-hand side (I had to frog some out due to a stitching miscount) and also putting the gold metallic in the skirt where the swirls are. I should have her done early next year! Can't wait.

As planned yesterday afternoon was spent working on Celtic Autumn and as you can see I've made quite good progress.

As there is so much gold braid stitching to do I always try to start by doing some of that and then moving onto some other stitching. At the moment I'm trying to fill in as many of the gaps as possible so as that I can avoid having to fix her to my roller frame for as long as possible. I'll also have to pluck up the courage to start adding the beads to the dress, something I've never worked with before, so that should be fun.

Not quite sure how I've managed this but I have another free day today so hopefully I'll get some more stitching done this afternoon,
